Silver Lake Village Board defers most business

It wasn’t a very full agenda to start with, but it got even leaner when most of the substantive items on the Silver lake Village Board agenda were tabled by village President Roger Johnson.

No explanation was offered, but it likely had something to do with that yesterday’s election turned out all four incumbent board members — Johnson and Trustees Ann Augustin, Marlene Engstrom and Richard Maron — that were up for election. Consequently, the next meeting will see four new board members seated — Jeffery Albrecht as president and Michael Decker, Pat Dunn and Sotira Wilber as trustees.

Tabled items were:

  • Discuss and Possible Action regarding Agreement with Accurate Appraisals, LLC.
  • Discuss and Possible Action regarding upgrading and the Purchase of Cell Phones for the Fire Department.
  • Approve to Hire Part Time Maintenance Employee.

The board did approve one action item. They voted unanimously in favor (with Engstrom absent) of letting Lakeland Little League use the softball diamond at Schmalfeldt Park.

About 20 people were in the audience including all of the new trustees.
