Local youth wrestlers do well at state

The WI Wrestling Federation held the WWF Kids Folkstyle State Tournament at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, on Friday, March 25 and Saturday, March 26,

Over 2,000 youth wrestlers competed by invitation. Eight youth wrestlers from the Stateline Wildcats Wrestling Club, Wilmot, earned the honor as State Qualifiers to compete. Two Wildcats wrestlers made it to the finals and placed.

Hunter Valach wrestled six matches throughout the day, with one major decision and one match resulting in a solid pin.  After making it to the finals, he succeeded in his last match and placed fifth in State overall.

Qwade Gehring wrestled six matches, with one major decision and one aggressive win in overtime.  He placed fourth in state overall.
