The Bristol Village Board approved a request from several citizens to place a streetlight in the 11800 block of 214th Avenue in the Lake Shangri-la neighborhood.

A petition requesting the light, signed by over 100 people, was presented at an earlier meeting.

Village administrator Randy Kerkman said utility company We Energies will install the light and the village will pay for the power used.

“I went out and reviewed the area and didn’t see any reason not to do it,” Kerkman said.

The vote to approve the light placement was unanimous.

“I know that area well and I think they need a light,” said Trustee Ruth Atwood.
