The Wisconsin Alliance for Fire Safety has announced that a poster by Salem School student Mary Rose Teumer has won statewide honorable mention in the annual “Fire & Burn Prevention Poster Contest.”
Teacher Vicki Vieau entered her fourth graders work in the contest.
Mary Rose’s poster was selected using the following criteria: 50 percent message, 25 percent creativity and 25 percent artistry.
Over 700 entries were received from students in fourth through seventh grades. Only four honorable mentions were selected.
Mary Rose’s poster message reads: “Take a Stand and Be Well-Planned.”
State Farm Insurance Company and the Professional Firefighters Charities of Wisconsin monetarily sponsor this annual statewide safety program though their support for the Wisconsin Alliance for Fire Safety.
