Gateway seeking applicants for board posts

The Board Appointment Committee for the Gateway Technical College District Board of Trustees has begun accepting applications from district residents seeking appointments to the board.

Deadline to apply for the appointment is noon, March 11.

Three seats will be open for appointment. Those holding the seats up for reappointment are Ram Bhatia, Neville Simpson and Pamela Zenner-Richards. The three-year appointments begin July 1, 2011, and end June 30, 2014.

Vacancies for three-year terms are one Kenosha County seat and two Racine County seats:

One must be an elected official member. In general, this is someone who also is a member of a school board, county board, town board, city council, village board, common council, the Legislature or is a sheriff or town clerk.

Two are additional member seats, in which all district residents are eligible to apply.

Applications must be notarized, include two letters of reference, and applicants must be present at the April 20 meeting of the appointment committee at the Burlington Center, 496 McCanna Parkway. Chairpersons of the Kenosha County, Walworth County and Racine County boards of supervisors make up the interview committee.
