A workshop for novice chicken owners or those who are looking at buying chickens is scheduled for Friday, March 25.
The workshop, which is open to Kenosha County residents, will include information on topics such as selecting breeds, common diseases and challenges, nutrition, housing and rules and regulations for the sale of eggs and meat. This workshop is organized and sponsored by UW Cooperative Extension.
Speakers for the workshop include Adam Hady and Ron Kean with UW Cooperative Extension and Arthur Ness from the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection. Chef Jack Kaestner from the Oconomowoc Lake Club will conduct a demonstration during lunch.
The workshop will take place at the Oconomowoc Lake Club in Oconomowoc. The program begins at 8:30 a.m. and runs until 3:15 .pm. Costs for the program are $20 per person or $35 for two people.
