Randall residents in attendance at a special meeting Thursday night overwhelming approved the town borrowing $3 million to conduct an extensive repair program for town roads.
The action will allow the village to exceed the tax levy cap to repay the funding borrowed from the state trust fund. Interest paid will be 3.75 percent.
By taking on the major program, the town is hoping to bring roads into a condition that will be less expensive to maintain in the long term, said town Chairman Bob Stoll.
The only vote against the move was cast by Supervisor Rose Nolan, who acknowledged the work needs to be done, but said she felt the town could not afford it at this time.
