Central forensics wins first place at Waterford invitational

Central High School’s forensics team won the first place team trophy at the Waterford High School forensics invitational on Saturday, Feb. 12.

Central speakers and interpretive performers outscored 23 other schools to take first place.

There were several individual winners in their categories, which number 16. Those who won first places were:

  • Kate Gerou in demonstration.
  • Madeline Witkus in farrago.
  • The play group of Jeff Teumer, Eric Ottmann, Tyler Farrell, Matt Karas and Zach Keller.
  • John Lynch in radio announcing.

A second place trophy went to Dustin Beth in radio announcing, and the group interpretation trio of Natalia Smart, Jessica Reiners and Joanne Reiners were awarded a third place trophy.

The Central team had taken second place team at their own invitational a week ago. They will travel to Delavan this Saturday, Feb. 19 for their next competition.
