Wheatland Center students work to be published in anthology

Wheatland Center School recently participated in the Southern Lakes Anthology writing contest. The title of this year’s anthology is “Treasures.”

Nine of Wheatland’s students had their writing or artwork chosen for publication. Student work is judged on creativity/originality, technical skill, clarity of message and overall quality.

Wheatland students that had their work selected include:

  • Grace Hetlet, grade 4, Art, “A Castle in the Sky.”
  • Katie Grabarec, grade 5, Art, “Treasure Map.”
  • Brock Schroeder, grade 6, Poetry, “Me and My Bro.”
  • Sarah Verzal, grade 6, Prose, “A Girl’s Best Friend.”
  • Madi Jorgensen, grade 6, Poetry, “Dear Mom,.”
  • Darien Florek, grade 6, Poetry, “In the Light of Darkness.”
  • Jake Gehrke, grade 7, Poetry, “Sometimes.”
  • Rebecca Lamp, grade 8, Prose, “Grandpa.”
  • Allison Rowland, grade 8, Illus. Writing, “What Is It?”
