Wheatland Center student wins Energy Bookmark contest

Zander Torres

Zander Torres, a Wheatland Center School sixth grader, had his bookmark chosen as one of the winners in the Wisconsin KEEP (K-12 Energy Education Program) 2011 Energy Bookmark Contest. His entry was one of three winners for his grade level, with a total of nine winning statewide entries.

In recognition of his contribution to energy education, Zander will receive a $50 U.S. Savings Bond and copies of his published entry. In addition, his bookmark will be duplicated and distributed to schools and libraries throughout Wisconsin. An Energy Awards Ceremony will be held in April at the University of Stevens Point for all of the winners.

Two other Wheatland sixth grade students, Jessica Batko and Kaitlyn Olson, also received Certificates of Recognition for their submitted bookmarks.
