West of the I public school districts have called off classes and activities for Wednesday due to the blizzard expected to start tonight and continue through Wednesday.
Administrators from the area school districts typically consult and make a joint decision on cancelling classes due to weather, explained David Milz Salem School District administrator.
“It’s a collective decision,” Milz said. “We’re just trying to give parents the time to make appropriate arrangements.”
Many schools also have cancelled after school activities today.
Also cancelled was the Central High School feeder district Band-o-Rama, scheduled for tomorrow night at the high school. Band-o-Rama has been re-scheduled for Feb. 9, Milz said.
