Snow update: NWS says still expect a lot

The National Weather Service forecast for the big snow storm keeps changing a little, but the end result is the same — more snow in a short time span than we have seen for quite a while around here.

The forecast issued at 5:36 a.m. this morning calls for somewhere between 12 to 21 inches — quite a spread — of snow accumulation from today through Wednesday. Heaviest snow will be Tuesday night. There’s also blowing and drifting being forecast that could drive snow much higher in spots.

The area is still under a winter weather advisory and a blizzard watch.

Temps will be in the 20s during the storm, but then are forecast to get much colder starting Wednesday night.
