Salem School spelling bee coverage

Salem School held its annual school-wide spelling bee Monday.

Finishing first was Kaylee McNamara. In second was Lucas Ray. Third was Hannah Sweeney.

Kaylee spelled “globalization” correctly to win the bee.

A classroom champion from each grade third through eighth competed. The other participants were: Cullen Black, Katie Boyd, Anna Chandler, Ashlynne Cooper, Makenzie Cooper, Mikayla Crone, Ashlyn Friedrichs, Colten Greenhill, Jack Hauber, Madison Heck, Maggie Hillock, Kenny Horner, Olivia Kazumura, Zach Lombardo, Cameron Lord, Maggie Morris, Keara Noland, Emily Olejniczak, Megan Sippy, Jamie Steinbach, Mary Teumer, Kiya Thompson, Jamie Voigt and Cory Ziehr.

Kaylee will move on to the regional spelling bee in Milton.
