The Help Shovel Out The Sharing Center fundraising campaign is under way.
This campaign, initiated by local citizens who just want to help out, consists of asking for donations of $5 in exchange for a token small blue toy shovel. The money raised will go directly into the Snow Plowing Fund at The Sharing Center in Paddock Lake.
The Sharing Center, as part of their ongoing operational expenses, is responsible for keeping their parking lot safe and free from ice and snow. Like any other charitable organization, there are things that you just can’t get donated. Snow plowing is one of them.
The following businesses have graciously offered to make the shovels available for purchase at their places of business:
- The 75th Street Inn, Salem.
- Community State Bank in Paddock Lake.
- Reineman’s True Value, Paddock Lake.
- M & I Bank in Paddock Lake.
- Drifters Bar & Grill, Paddock Lake.
- Southport Bank in Paddock Lake.
- Paddock Lake Sporting Goods.
- Sieberts Pub, Salem.
- Lumpys Sports Bar & Grill, Salem.
- Nonni’s Italian Bistro & Bar, Trevor.
The Sharing Center would also like to appeal to all private snow plow contractors who understand, that while the center is unable to take volunteer snow plowing due to insurance regulations, the center is able to accept direct cash donations in any amount that they would like to contribute. If they would be kind enough to possibly donate a percentage of their earnings for one snow event it would go a long way toward helping the center reach its goal.
‘The Sharing Center is also looking for a donation of a small- to medium-sized snow blower.
