Twin Lakes to seek bids for dam repair, electronic monitoring

Twin Lakes will seek bids for repairs to the dam between lakes Mary and Elizabeth as well as for an electronic level monitoring system.

The Village Board, acting as lake district commissioners, unanimously approved the action at a district meeting Monday.

The board took the vote after hearing a presentation on the two projects from members of the Lake District Steering Committee. They said the repairs are needed to guard against a possible blowout of the dam in the future. The electronic monitoring, estimated to cost about $5,000, would eliminated village personnel from having to check the level. It also could allow the level to be posted automatically on the village website.
