As of about 6:45 a.m., the West of the I weather railing has accumulated about 1.5 inches of snow.
The forecast calls for snow to continue today with total accumulation of about 3 inches expected during the day and perhaps another inch tonight as snow evolves into snow showers.
UPDATE 7:10 a.m. — Per dispatch, some third shift deputies being kept on patrol, mostly in area of interstate, likely due to poor road conditions.
UPDATE 7:31 a.m. — Deputies responding to at least three cars in ditches are various locations.
UPDATE 8:30 a.m. — Driver just in from traveling all over the area says Highway 50 clear but many county and state highways have snow on their surfaces. Driving was slow going.
UPDATE 9:37 a.m. — Deputy investigating report of a car in the ditch at Highways 50 and W.
