There are four offices to be filled for the town of Paris in the April election, but only one will have a contest on the ballot
Incumbent Supervisor 1 Ron Kammerzelt will face a challenge by Paul Terry
The following incumbents will be unchallenged in their re-election bids:
- Virgil Gentz, chairman.
- Ken Monson, supervisor 2.
- Beverly McCumber, clerk/treasurer.
Really? Only one contest? Does that mean that all the residents are “happy” with things as they are? Doubt it from what we’ve seen at meetings. Those who don’t attend meetings have no idea what is and is not happening in the Town therefore they have no idea of the need for key changes.
Very sad indeed. Well, I hope that at least with ONE new person, things can at least change a little. There’s still time for write-ins.
Yes sad indeed. Too bad the town can’t post the rules and deadlines for elections on their website. There is a spot for it. It currently says: Upcoming Elections __________________________________. That is the update that recently changed from: Upcoming Elections 2009___________________.
Sad indeed.
NORTHWEST MIKE!
Wow – I can’t believe it. This is the first time I’m writing here, but feel the need to. I just had the Town chairman leave my home, and all he could do was negative campaign. The chairman doesn’t even have opposition, so I’m not sure why he’s out campaigning.
I am assuming that you are Mike Cavalenes. Mike I’m sure the Chairman is seeing the writing on the wall. I can only imagine what the “negative” campaigning is. I would love to hear it.
No, I’m not Mike C. He’s not being negative about a school board candidate.
Would you share what he was negative about?
He made comments about the existing board people “getting along” and “working together nicely” – he didn’t want to see things upset. I see that he got his way, so let’s see what the board is going to do for the next two years.
So the chairman was campaigning for Kammerzelt. He should worry about his own job.
Thanks Mike.
