The Twin Lakes Professional Police/Dispatcher Association and the Twin Lakes Fire Department/Rescue Squad Association teamed up for the seventh annual “Shop With A Hero†event Saturday, at the Wal-Mart Super Center in Lake Geneva.
The departments brought 30 students, 15 from Lakewood School and 15 from Randall School, and allow each student to purchase $150 in merchandise. The selected children shopped with a police officer or police dispatcher from the Twin Lakes Police Department or a firefighter or emergency medical technician from either the Twin Lakes Fire Department and Rescue Squad or the Randall Fire Department. The entire bill is paid for by money raised or donated from local individuals, businesses and organizations.
The 30 students were nominated by each of their respective school’s teachers and then selected by their respective school’s principals to participate in this event. The students have been nominated and ultimately selected by their respective school for items such as, but not limited to: Significant school performance, significant school improvement, special community involvement, positive school influence / attitude or any other criteria each school wants to use.
