The Providence Catholic Middle School Student Council approached the Kenosha County Sharing Center to present a Student Council Food Drive to provide aide to area families through the Christmas Season. Through discussions with the director of the Sharing Center, Providence was informed that the Sharing Center has over 3,000 pounds of food, clothing and Christmas decorations they received from generous donors in the Kenosha County area over the past several weeks. Although many local volunteers staff the Sharing Center, they have many projects to accomplish in a short period of time through the holidays.
Answering the call of the director, the Providence Student Council organized the fifth through eighth grade students to donate their time and energy to The Sharing Center on Monday, Nov. 29. The Providence Catholic School students spent the afternoon sorting through clothing and Christmas decorations to be distributed by the Sharing Center to families in need. This valuable time aided the center in meeting the needs of those they serve.
