Salem Santa visit coverage

Salem Town Hall hosted a visit from Santa Saturday afternoon.

Besides photos and consultation with the big guy, there also were a host of other activities to enjoy as well. There was a raffle, children’s games, crafts and a cookie walk.

The town, The Sharing Center, the Salem Boosters Club and Toys for Tots collaborated on the event.

Many people, local business, and organizations were involved to make this event a success. This starts with the Vendors who participated in our Spooktakular Vendor Fair in October. Thank you so much. Your participation in our event helped us to purchase many prizes for Santa comes to Salem as well as a new suit for Santa.
Local business helped us immensely as well. U-line donated bags for both our Spooktakular event and Santa. Children (and parents) were able to make beautiful gift bags for the season. Burger King, Central High, People’s Bank, Southport Bank, and Community State Bank, West of the I, Westosha, and Kenosha News for publicizing our event. Sass Graphics made us fantastic, fun, reusable signs for the event and gave us a generous discount and Walgreens supplied us with candy canes for our treat bags. Schenning Insurance provided us with two $25 gift cards to Home Depot, Subway in Paddock Lake a party platter and reusuable coffee mugs, with a great lunch bag, M&I provided us with a$25 Visa Gift Card, Lucky Chen and The Colony House $20 gift certificates, and Westosha Floral a $10 gift certificate. Adults enjoyed playing Spin the Santa for these donations.
Thanks to the Sharing Center and Salem Booster Club for participating in the event. The raffle items and pictures with Santa were organized by the Sharing Center. There were numerous raffle items to choose from with great variety and creativity. Salem Booster Club hosted a cookie walk- What can I say except- Delicious…
Thanks to all the people involved. To all the staff and board at the Salem Town Hall- Thank you for all your help, ideas, and labor provided. I appreciate you putting up with me the past few weeks and my office that looked like a toy store and a printing shop.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank my family. Paul, Travis, and Trevor- Thanks for volunteering your time and talents at both the Spooktakular event and the Santa event. Thank you for building the Lollipop Tree, Spinning Santa, and the Plinko Board for me. Your support and love means the world to me. You guys are the best. Special thanks to Travis- (a.k.a Buddy the Elf)
Of course I cannot forget to thank Santa! I appreciate your kindness and gentleness with the children and jolly ways. You have done a wonderful job for many years and I am forever grateful.
Finally- thanks to the community for coming and enjoying the holidays with us. We hope you had a Great Day .
