As a way of honoring and celebrating Marie Mattioli, a longtime Paris School teacher who recently passed away, the Paris School community will be holding a Memorial Open House on Thursday, Dec. 2 from 5 to 8 p.m.
The Open House will include various writings, pictures, and projects from current and past Paris students, which will be displayed throughout the gymnasium. A collection of writings from former Paris students is also being created and will be organized into a single book to be displayed in the library.
Prior to the Open House, Paris alumni are being encouraged to share their favorite memories of Miss Mattioli by sending in any stories or writings that they would like included in the book. Writings may also be completed in the gym during the Open House.
While the legacy of Miss Mattioli will continue to live on in the hearts of all of her students, it is sure to continue through the teaching at Paris School. As a way of honoring Miss Mattioli and her love for reading, the evening will also include the dedication and renaming of the library as the Marie Mattioli Memorial Library.
All Paris families, students, and alumni are welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served in the cafeteria, courtesy of the P.S.O. Feel free to contact the office with any questions or concerns at 859-2350.
