Bristol receives sign for water award

Bristol officials were formally recognized for their water protection efforts Monday.

A representative of the Water Star program presented officials with a large sign and a certificate naming Bristol a Water Star community.

Bristol is the first municipality in Kenosha County to earn the distinction.

The Water Star program honors cities, villages, towns and counties that have taken important steps to protect surface water and groundwater, such as strengthening stormwater controls, ensuring water quality, protecting habitats and encouraging residents to conserve water.
