Salem sixth graders present Egyptian burial ceremony

Salem School sixth graders showed their in-depth knowledge of the rituals associated with an ancient Egyptian royal burial ceremony at a demonstration for students and parents Tuesday morning at the school.

Students acted out all aspects of the ceremony within the context of a play that had a group of modern day children discovering their ancient Egyptian roots.

Besides the large cast of  sixth graders, the program also included an appearance by principals Ben Walshire and Eileen Bruton as the royal ancestors in their pre-mummy days.

Here are some video highlights:

The sixth graders have been studying ancient Egypt for the last several weeks.
