First Christian Church of Kenosha is partnering with SHARE, a non-profit, volunteer-run food buying club that helps families save 30 to50 percent on supermarket quality food. Through SHARE, First Christian Church is providing a way for families to enjoy complete holiday meals by participating in the SHARE The Season campaign. Community members can purchase Christmas Dinner Packages with all the fixings to cook a meal for six, including a large assortment of seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables. The dinner package cost is $25. Plus SHARE offers savings on other food assortments and individual items all year round.
Everyone is welcome to purchase food through SHARE — there are no income requirements or eligibility guidelines. Families can purchase and pick up their dinner package at First Christian Church, 13022 Wilmot Road, Bristol. Each holiday dinner package costs $25 plus $1 handling fee. Because SHARE knows the need this year is great, these packages are being offered at last year’s price.
SHARE’s Christmas Dinner Package includes a 6-lb. boneless honey ham, canned pineapple, a corn soufflé, an 8-inch apple pie, and a fresh produce assortment with potatoes, broccoli, carrots, apples, oranges and more (again, actual selection may vary). Order online at www.sharewi.org, toll-free at 800-548-2124 or by calling the local SHARE volunteer team at 262-764-9875. Orders must be placed by Tuesday, Nov. 30 for pick-up on Saturday, December 18.
SHARE’s online ordering system accepts debit and credit card payments only, but SHARE also accepts cash, check, money order and Quest/Link/Bridge (food stamp) cards at the order/pick-up location.
Local businesses, churches and other organizations are also invited to participate in SHARE The Season. First Christian Church invites you to adopt-a-family through The Sharing Center (thesharingcenter.net) or other local organization and then purchase a holiday meal for them from SHARE.
