Twin Lakes to hold line on tax levy

Twin Lakes is holding the line on the village tax levy for next year.

The tax levy adopted by the Village Board Monday will be about $13,500 or .4 percent more than approved for 2010.

That is actually about $25,000 less than the village has budgeted to spend. However, as the budget contains several “worse case scenarios” staff is confident they should be able to make up the apparent deficit with savings through the year, said village administrator David Cox.

If savings do not develop, the boar could dip into $45,000 it is putting toward reserves to make up any deficit, Cox said.
