Deputies responding to reports of road hazards

At 2:32 p.m., deputies are responding to calls about road hazards due to high winds.

One report is on Highway JI. Wheatland Fire Department is out at that scene and will be notifying county public works.

There also is a report of a tree down in the 34800 block of Highway F.

A sheriff’s deputy also is responding to a report of a construction sign blocking traffic in the southbound lanes of I-94 in about the 34800 block.

The National Weather Service forecast that winds could start easing late this afternoon.

UPDATE 2:39 p.m. — Deputies closing Highway MB in about the 5100 block. Deputy reports that a tree has fallen on wires and may bring a utility pole down onto the roadway. Dispatch reports that We energies reports they are responding to 200 similar requests for service. Winds currently being recorded by NWS (at Kenosha Airport) at over 30 mph with gusts over 50 mph.

UPDATE 3:34 p.m. — Dispatch reports that they have received a report of a covered boat floating out in Silver Lake.

UPDATE 3:35 p.m. — Report of large branch in road on 336th Ave (Highway KD) near La Salette Shrine.

UPDATE 3:39 p.m. — Tree in road at 1025 School Street, Silver Lake.

UPDATE 3:46 p.m. — Report of wires down in the 19800 block of 83rd Street, Bristol.
