Central volleyball boys go 8-0 in conference play

The Central Falcons boys volleyball team finished a perfect 8-0 in SEC play tonight sweeping the Muskego Warriors. The win capped off the Conference schedule and now gives Central back-to-back SEC Championships, in just the fifth year of the program.

The Falcons knocked off a little rust from not playing for a week, and scored a sweep with wins of 25-18, 25-19 and 25-22. The Falcons used consistent play from setter Dayton Erickson, hitting from Mike Michelau, Nick Manning and Caleb Mobile to open up an 18-10 lead on the Warriors. Each set started off a bit the same with both teams about even until the midpoint of the set, when the Falcons moved out to advantages that the Warriors could not overcome, despite some good defensive play and blocking by Muskego.

Fron Coach Wayne Schultz:

I felt Curtis Labicki played his best career match tonight. Defensively he was all the place and had some great digs.We kept Muskego out of their offense with aggressive serving. We played some very good team volleyball. We play next on Saturday, October 23rd, at the conference tournament at Central starting at 830 am. It would be great way to spend Saturday . I would like to invite all the readers to come watch us play.

Stats:

Kills: Mike Michelau 11, Nick Manning 10,Caleb Mobile 5.

Diane: Covering sports is very time consuming and for the most part we rely on people to send in info and/or pix for our sports coverage. — DH
