Central boys cross country take conference meet

The Central High School boys cross country team ran to victory Saturday, Oct. 16 at the Southern Lakes Conference cross country meet at University of Wisconsin-Parkside.

It was the team’s their first conference championship since 2006.

The overall individual winner was Aaron Derner from Waterford followed by Central’s Bradley Gorsline. Central had three runners place in the top 10 and five runners place in the top 15 which helped secure their victory.

Wilmot took eighth place with their lead runner Jon Schiltz placing 37th with a time of 19:26.5.

Central girls placed third(92) behind Waterford (34) and Badger(48). Centrals lead runner Abilgail Reeves, placed 7th with a 16:26.3, followed by 13th place MacKenzie Bevery, 16:50.5.

Wilmot girls took 6th place with 118 points. Wilmot’s top runner was 14th place finisher Lyndsey Clayton with a 16:54.
