The yet to be named county park on Highway KD was open Saturday for those who wanted to get a peak at what it looks like back there.
The sprawling park, on the site of a former gravel pit, is still under development. The county has slowly been working at completing the facility. A couple of summers ago, hiking paths were cut by Kenosha’s Summer Youth Employment Program participants.
The main obstacle keeping the park from being open regularly to the public is completing infrastructure, such as roads, said Jon Rudie, county parks general manager.
If you missed Saturday, the park will be open again Saturday, Oct. 30 from 8 to 5 p.m.
