The Sharing Center begins sign-up for holiday programs

The Holy Cross Church-Wilmot gym was full of food bound for adopted families last Thanksgiving thanks to The Sharing Center volunteers.

Income-qualified residents of Western Kenosha County, who are in need of Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner baskets, may sign up at the Sharing Center in Paddock Lake, on Monday, Wednesday or Friday, between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m, until the Friday,  Nov. 12 deadline.

“Anonymous Angels” will provide all the necessary and, not so necessary, food items for complete Thanksgiving and Christmas meals; in addition, at Christmas time gifts will be given to all members of the families.

Thanksgiving pickup is scheduled at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Wilmot (intersection of Highways C and B) on Saturday, Nov. 20, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m, while Christmas pickup is Saturday, Dec. 18, at the same place and time.

In the same manner, “Anonymous Angels” may call or stop in to the Sharing Center to sign up to adopt-a-family for Thanksgiving and/or Christmas. Drop off of Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners along with yuletide gifts for family members takes place from 6 a.m. until 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Wilmot, on Saturday, Nov. 20, and Saturday, Dec. 18 respectively. Please help us to make sure that every child living west of the I has a Christmas gift under the tree on Christmas morning.

For more information about the Sharing Center Adopt-a-Family program, call the center at 262-997-0783. Located at 7001 236th Ave., Paddock Lake, The Sharing Center is open five days a week.
