Wheatland Center School administration will be meeting with a Burlington-based roofing contractor to come up with a plan for repairing four areas of the school’s roof.

The district recently received three bids from roofing companies. The School Board Tuesday night decided to pursue formulating a plan for the needed roofing with The Roofing Company, of Burlington. They submitted a preliminary bid of about $145,000 to $192,000

District administrator Jason Tadlock said actual work on the roof would not startĀ untilĀ spring. In the meantime, a more precise cost will be worked up between the district and the contractor.

Much of the school building’s roof is sloped and shingled.

“We may have the record for the number of shingles on a roof in Wisconsin,” Tadlock said.
