The Salem Town Board set official trick or treat hours in the town for 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31.
Given Halloween being on Sunday, the board discussed other possible times for the official hours, but settled on the traditional date and hours that straddled light and some dark.
“The kids don’t have as much fun if it’s not a little dark,” said Supervisor Diann Tesar.
The 31st is on a Monday. The date that came on the water Bill also says Monday So is it going to be Sunday or Monday.
Brenda: This post you are commenting on was published last year, when Halloween was indeed on a Sunday. Most municipalities that had hours on Sunday last year have gone with Monday hours for trick or treat this year. Wheatland is one exception. I will round up all the hours in a post coming soon. — DH
