The Paris Town Board has called a special town meeting for today at 4 p.m.
The notice of the meeting was published as a newspaper legal ad Sunday, but does not appear on the town’s website.
The meeting’s agenda, according to the legal ad, is:
- Discussion and possible action on a Referendum to make the Clerk/Treasurer an appointed position by the Paris Town Board.
- Discussion and possible action on placing an Advisory Referendum on the Nov. 2, 2010 ballot for paying for mass transit in Kenosha County.
After those items, the board will then convene to a closed session regarding personnel.
The meeting will be held in the board room of the Public Safety Building, 16607 Burlington Road (Highway 142), Paris.
UPDATE — The board passed holding a clerk referendum, someone who was at the meeting told me.
What a surprise. The Town website is a joke at this point. The emails aren’t even sett up correctly.
Yup…and wasn’t there some request previously about bringing the Town office into the 21st century? Oh, that would require progressing in a forward motion. Sorry, can’t do it.
