Units responding to Bong for medical call

At 11:20 a.m., units from Salem Fire/Rescue and Silver Lake Rescue are responding to Bong State Recreation Center, Highways 142 and 75, Brighton.

Call is for a woman who is unconscious and may not be breathing. She reportedly fell off a horse, dispatch reports.

UPDATE 11:25 a.m. — Dispatch reports that injured person is breathing now, but may have a head injury.

UPDATE 11:27 a.m. — People may actually be south of the park off of Highway JB.

UPDATE 11:32 a.m. — Deputies and rescue personnel having difficulty locating patient. Deputy has deputized a farmer’s pick-up and is heading down horse trail.

UPDATE 11:33 a.m. — Park personnel to search trail too.

UPDATE 11:34 a.m. — Deputy that is heading west on trail can hear people with patient shouting to the west of his location.

UPDATE 11:38 a.m. — Deputy and park ranger have located patient. Deputy reports that she is breathing and is semi-conscious. Horses have run-off.

UPDATE 11:41 a.m. — Flight for Life medical transport helicopter being placed on standby. Personnel on scene reports the person may have “some pretty good internal injuries.”

UPDATE 11:49 a.m. — Flight for Life on the way and will be landing near scene of fall north of Highway JB.

UPDATE 12:08 p.m. — Flight for Life on the ground at scene.
