Iraq and Afghanistan veterans and their families in the entire southeastern Wisconsin area are invited to the 3rd Annual Welcome Home celebration, Oct. 2 at the Experimental Aircraft Association grounds, 3000 Poberezny Road, in Oshkosh.
All guests who register by Sept. 15 will receive free admission to the museum. While the target is recent veterans, everyone who previously served in the military is welcome.
Officials said this is another way to provide information about the array of VA services, including suicide prevention and post traumatic stress disorder.
“This is a family-friendly event where we want to sign up veterans for health care on the spot, answer all their questions, and provide lots of resources,†he said.
Welcome Home takes place 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and includes a job information fair, colleges, information on the G.I. Bill, state and federal benefits, women’s health care, free food, music, and military static displays. There will be a rock climbing wall and other activities for children, including fly fishing lessons.
