Twin Lakes sees increase in insurance cost

Twin Lakes will be paying a little more for its insurance coverage for the next year.

The Village Board also has chosen to add insurance against its employees being robbed while carrying village cash.

This year’s premium will be $97,734, about $4,100 more than last year, with the added insurance.

Linda Proeber, of CRB Insurance of Racine, told the Village Board she recommended the additional coverage for robbery after seeing an increase in such incidents among her municipal and school district clients.

Of the village’s various insurance categories, the largest increase is in workers compensation, which is increasing $2,943. Village administrator David Cox said that amount is determined by payroll and is not necessarily the village’s prior experience.
