Man dies in accident at cement plant

The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department issued the following information regarding a fatal industrial accident in Paris today:

This morning at 10:30 a.m., Kenosha County sheriff’s deputies responded along with Paris Fire and Rescue to a report of a worksite accident at 1810 120 Ave. The address is the site of  a concrete mixing facility in Paris.

Upon their arrival, deputies soon discovered the incident involved a fatal injury to a cement truck operator. The initial investigation has revealed that the truck operator had been in the yard washing out the loading port of the cement truck when the fatal injury occurred. Its believed the victim had somehow become caught between the rotating drum and the loading hopper of the cement truck. He sustained crushing injuries and died at the scene.

The victim is a 36-year-old man from the Kenosha County area. His identity is being withheld until family members can be notified.

OSHA representatives and company officials have also responded to assist in the investigation.
