Motorcyclist dies in crash

The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department released the following information regarding a fatal motorcycle crash this afternoon in Bristol:

At 2:30 p.m. today, Kenosha County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a report of a serious injury accident at the intersection of USH 45 and CTH K (60st.) in Bristol.

The accident involved a motorcycle and a pick-up truck. According to witnesses, a Chevy S-10 pick-up was stopped south bound on USH 45, waiting to make a left turn onto CTH K. A motorcycle, also south bound on USH 45, struck the rear of the pickup just as it began to initiate its left turn. The motorcyclist was ejected after impact. He sustained significant trauma and died at the scene. The victim was a 57-year-old man from Union Grove. He was operating a ’97 Kawasaki 1500. He was not wearing a helmet. The victim’s identity is being withheld until family members can be notified.

The driver of the Chevy S-10 complained of some soreness, but was not seriously hurt. She is a 58-year-old woman from Bristol who was on her way to work.

No citations  have been issued. The case remains under investigation.
