Enjoy an elegant dinner out featuring local foods while supporting the Farm Fresh Atlas of Southeastern Wisconsin and local farmers throughout the region! A fundraiser dinner will be held on Saturday, Sept. 11, to help sustain the Farm Fresh Atlas of Southeastern Wisconsin, a guide that connects residents with their local farmers, farmers’ markets and locally owned and operated businesses and organizations.

The fundraiser dinner will be held at Oconomowoc Lake Club on September 11, 2010, starting with a silent auction and hors d’oeuvres showcasing the produce and products of local farmers and businesses. At 7:30 p.m., a dinner prepared by Oconomowoc Lake Club Executive Chef Jack Kaestner will be served. Chef Kaestner has long been an avid advocate for local food, and is well-known for his expertise in utilizing the freshest ingredients to create unique culinary delights.

The cost for dinner is $65 for individuals ages 13 and older; $45 for youth between the ages of six and twelve; and children ages five and younger eat for free by sharing a meal with an adult. Tickets can be purchased online at: http:///www.farmfreshatlas.org/southeast/ and can also be ordered through the mail. For more information on the Farm Fresh Atlas and the fundraiser dinner, or to request a ticket order form, contact Rose Skora at (262) 857-1945 or rose.skora@ces.uwex.edu .

Additionally, the Farm Fresh Atlas of Southeastern Wisconsin planning committee is now taking applications for the 2011 edition. Farmers who sell directly to consumers, through on-farm sales, farm stands, farmers’ markets, CSA’s, or U-Pick operations or through other methods can be listed in the Atlas. Any food related business that also supports farmers such as cheese factories, food coops, restaurants, bakeries, meat processors and others can participate as a business sponsor.

The cost to list a farm in the Atlas is $50. Businesses listings are $175. There will also be ad space available for businesses who would like that option. Applications must be returned by December 1st, 2010 and Atlases will be available for distribution beginning in March of 2011.
