Injured Twin Lake public works employee back on job

Al Stolp in his capacity as an assistant chief of the Twin Lakes Fire Department.

Twin Lakes public works employee Al Stolp is back on the job this week, the Village Board learned Monday.

That’s noteworthy because Stolp was severely injured in a fall from a tree last October.

The tally of Stolp’s injuries was mind-boggling. He broke a leg in three spots. He broke 11 of his 12 ribs. He had multiple internal injuries. He was transported from the village by Flight for Life medical helicopter and spent weeks in the hospital.

“It truly was a life-changing experience for me,” Stolp told westofthei.com back in December referring to his rehab and the support he received from the community.
