Bryan W. Fusinato of Twin Lakes has been sentenced to four years in prison for a charge of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle relating to a July 4, 2009 crash in which a McHenry, Illinois woman died.
Fusinato pleaded guilty to the charge in March. The sentence was ordered by Judge Mary Kay Wagner.
The accident on Highway Z (93st Street) just east of Highway P (388th Avenue), Randall, was discovered by a passing motorist. Deputies said the vehicle driven by Fusinato was westbound on Highway Z when it drifted off road to the right, slid sideways and struck a large tree. There were only two occupants in the vehicle, a 2006 Pontiac GTO. The front seat passenger, Sara A. Heide, 28, of McHenry, died at the scene, sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Gil Benn said.
Fusinato also received four years of extended supervision.
