The Kenosha County Association for Home & Community Education members have recently awarded two $1,000 scholarships to family members of their members. The funds for these scholarships come from the annual cookie sale held in December.

The 2010 recipients are Kelsey Mentek,  granddaughter of member Dorothy Singer of Kenosha, and Timothy Oja of Sterling Heights, Mich, the grandson of Benita Hynes of Kenosha.

Amalie Michajlak of Silver Lake was the recipient of the Sue Savas College Days Scholarship. This scholarship is named in honor of Sue Savas, a former member. Some of the funds for this scholarship have been donated by Steve Savas and his family.
