Lightning to host 56-team tournament this weekend

Wisconsin Lightning Fastpitch is hosting its annual NSA Qualifying “Battle of the Borders” girl’s fast pitch softball tournament at Central High School’s Sorenson Fields, Salem Grade School and Wilmot High School this weekend.

Over 56 teams, from Wisconsin and Illinois, will be competing in 10U, 12U, 14U and 16U age groups on June 25, 26 and 27.

All players within those 56 teams will be eligible to enter a $250 scholarship drawing at their age level. Through this tournament, Wisconsin Lightning Fastpitch will be giving a total combined award of $2,250 in higher education scholarship money to these athletes.

Locally, Wisconsin Lightning Fastpitch has over 70 girls on two10U, one 12U, two 14U and one 16U teams. With no admission charge for this event, Wisconsin Lightning Fastpitch invites you to come and enjoy the games.
