Twin Lakes American Legion Post and the Genoa City Reddogs are planning to bring their Fall Festivus back this September.
After a successful first year, the groups are looking to add some features to the event this year, according to a letter from the event’s chairman Todd Erickson to the Twin Lakes Village Board.
Planned activities include:
- A double-elimination softball tournament.
- 5K run from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, which is a different day. However, the course will be the same as last year.
- Live music.
- Food and beverages.
- New home run derby on Friday.
- Car show on Saturday.
- Parade at 6 p.m. on Saturday from Lance Park to Legion Park with first responders leading and a tribute in honor of 9-11 at 7 p.m.
- Sunday will be family day featuring a craft show, dog show, dog costume parade, soapbox derby and perhaps a magician and stilt walkers.
The groups will be seeking a three-day fermented beverages license from the village as well as help with traffic control during the 5K and parade.
