At 12:59 p.m., Flight for Life should be arriving soon to transport a person involved in a multi-vehicle crash in Twin Lakes.
UPDATE — Twin Lakes Police Chief Dale Racer supplied the following info on the crash:
At 12:30p.m. police, fire and rescue responded to the report of a Dodge mini van that was westbound in the 1200 block of Lance Drive that drifted into eastbound traffic and into on-coming traffic. A Honda sedan that was traveling eastbound in the 1200 block of Lance Drive saw the westbound Dodge mini van drifting into her lane of traffic and instinctively drove her Honda sedan into the westbound lane to avoid the vehicle in her traffic lane. However, the driver of the Dodge mini van observed herself drifting into on-coming traffic, corrected herself by going back into her westbound lane of traffic, not noticing the Honda sedan trying to avoid an accident by switching traffic lanes, thus causing both vehicles to collide in the westbound lane.
The driver of the Honda sustained a broken knee and as a precautionary measure due to the broken knee and concern for possible damage to the femoral artery was conveyed by Flight for Life Medical Helicoptor to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa.
The driver of the mini van sustained minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
Investigation is pending; citations are expected to be issued.
Note: Earlier we had identified which driver had which injuries. That info was challenged and we are trying to verify it now. We’ll report it again when it is confirmed. We apologize for the confusion.
