Units responding to report of house struck by lightning

At 2:44 p.m., in the midst of a downpour from a thunderstorm, Salem Fire/Rescue units and deputies are responding to the report of a house in the 11500 block of Fox River Road, Wilmot, struck by lightning.

Dispatch says people on the scene report a burning smell in the house.

UPDATE 2:45 p.m. — Dispatch reports that everyone is out of the home.

UPDATE 2:47 p.m. — First units on scene seeing no flame from outside.

UPDATE 2:49 p.m. — Randall Fire Department also responding.

UPDATE 3 p.m. — We Energies responding to scene. Dispatch also reports that National Weather Service says storm over the area right now is stationary and causing some small hail with frequent cloud to ground lightning.

UPDATE 4:04 p.m. — All fire department units clearing scene. No fire found. We Energies also has cleared house.
