Work took place all this week on the fencing needed to make the Warren Close Bark Park in Randall a reality.
The fencing arrived earlier in the week. Fence posts were dug and the fencing and gates installed as the week progressed.
Also, the county is still working on constructing a gravel driveway and parking lot at the Close site, said Jonathon Rudie, general manager of the Kenosha County Parks.
A date for the park’s opening has not been set yet, Rudie said.
Work on a similar off-leash dog park will begin at Petrifying Springs County Park in Somers when the work at the Close park is complete.
County Executive Kreuser pledged $25,000 from money the county receives from the Pheasant Run Landfill for development of the parks if another $25,000 was raised by the public. Over $41,000 has been collected, including two $12,500 donations for naming the parks.
The county also recently established a website for the dog parks.
