Traffic stop yields marijuana arrests

A traffic stop in Paris Tuesday evening led to a drug arrest.

A state trooper stopped a Oldsmobile Bravada on Highway 142 just west of Highway 45 Interstate 94 at about 7:45 p.m., according to a report supplied by the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department. The trooper then requested a drug dog sniff of the vehicle from the Sheriff’s Department.

A sheriff’s deputy and K9 responded. The dog “alerted” in several areas of the vehicle and a subsequent search located a gallon size bag with 120 grams of marijuana underneath the front passenger seat, the report said.

All three occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody and charged with party to a crime of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. The driver of the vehicle was also charged with two counts of obstructing an officer for providing a false name, the report said.
