Units responding to report of fire in Paris

At 1:27 p.m., units from Paris Fire and Rescue, Bristol Fire and Rescue, Pleasant Prairie Fire and Somers Fire as well as the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department are responding to the report of a fire at a business in the 100 block of 200th Avenue (Highway 45).

Dispatch reports that the fire started in electrical boxes at the rear of the building.

UPDATE at 1:34 p.m. — Deputy on the scene reports that fire was contained and is out. Business is seeking fire department help to make sure fire is out.

UPDATE 7:33 p.m. — At the Town Board meeting, Paris Fire Chief Roland Iwen confirmed that the fire appeared to come form an electrical panel. When he arrived this afternoon, smoke was pushing out of the roof, he said.
