The chamber has partnered with Capital Brewery of Madison for “Bottoms up for Libertyfest.”

“Libertyfest Lager” will be sold at during the months of April, May and June at area establishments, with the last sales being at Libertyfest itself, July 2 and 3.

“Our goal is to have a minimum of 4000 lagers sold!” said Anna Moldenhauer, chamber president. “This would raise $2000 to be used towards our fireworks and parade. So many communities have had to cut back or simply cut out these, sometimes seen as “frivolous”, activities. Not us! We are simply going to ask the area people to lift their glass and ‘Bottoms up for Libertyfest!'”

Area bars, taverns and restaurants are being invited to participate and through them, 50 cents from each glass will come back to Libertyfest.

In addition, many of the establishments will also sell a special line of 16oz beer glasses with the Libertyfest Lager “Bottoms up” logo as well as their establishments name – hopefully people will go to a different bar each week and collect one from each stop. The chamber will receive a small percentage from the glassware sales as well. Those who don’t drink Lager can still help out by buying the glasses.

To add another level of excitement and promote repeat business, the chamber will be offering an overnight trip to Middleton to visit Capital Brewery complete with lodging, food and beverage, courtesy of Capital Brewery.

The local distributor, CJW, is providing table tents and posters so patrons will know where to go to find Libertyfest Lager and a large tally board to track the 4,000 glass goal.

“Libertyfest Lager is a brand new taste for Capital Brewery,” Moldenhauer said. “Typically their beers are very malty and rich tasting. This lager is ‘clean, crisp, refreshing’…lighter in body…very friendly drinking’.”

It will sell, on tap, for just $5 (with the commemorative glassware) or $3 in a plain glass.
